Course Introduction

Organizations today generate and handle increasing volumes of operational data from multiple sources, including spreadsheets, transactional systems, reports, customer records, operational logs, departmental databases, and other business applications. While the term “Big Data” is often associated with advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and complex analytics platforms, many professionals need a more practical understanding of how large volumes of business data can be collected, organized, managed, validated, consolidated, analyzed, and transformed into useful operational information.

The Practical Big Data & Operational Data Management program by BOOST Consulting & Training is a three-day individual coaching program designed for professionals who need to work effectively with business data without requiring advanced programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or sophisticated data-science techniques.

The program takes a practical, traditional approach to Big Data and data management, focusing on the fundamental principles and operational practices that professionals can apply directly in their day-to-day work.

Rather than focusing heavily on technology, the coaching will help the participant understand the complete operational data cycle: where data comes from, how it should be collected and structured, how data quality can be maintained, how multiple datasets can be consolidated, and how large volumes of information can be converted into meaningful reports and management insights.

The program will also address common workplace challenges such as duplicate records, inconsistent formats, missing information, outdated data, multiple versions of the same dataset, poor file structures, and difficulties in consolidating information received from different departments or systems.

Basic spreadsheet-based techniques may be used during practical exercises where appropriate; however, the program is not designed as an Excel course. The focus remains on the broader principles of operational data management and practical business analysis.
Through one-to-one coaching, practical exercises, real-world scenarios, and guided application, the participant will develop a structured and realistic approach to managing data efficiently and using it to support operational and management decisions.
