Course Introduction

This program from BOOST is designed to equip industrial security officers in the Oil & Gas sector with the expertise to plan for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and crises. Given the sector’s exposure to incidents such as fires, explosions, hazardous material leaks, natural disasters, and hostile actions, security officers play a critical role in minimizing risks and protecting people, assets, and the environment. The course blends theory with practical exercises to ensure participants can handle emergencies under pressure, coordinate effectively with HSE teams and external agencies, and support business continuity.

Course Objectives

  • Identify different types of emergencies and crises affecting Oil & Gas operations.
  • Apply structured emergency preparedness frameworks and response plans.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies (HSE, civil defense, police, coast guard).
  • Lead security responses during incidents to protect personnel and assets.
  • Contribute to post-incident analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement of crisis management systems.
