Course Introduction
This training course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to development of PL/SQL. This will allow participants to explore the benefits of the PL/SQL programming language. The SQL Developer course will focus mainly on topics such as controlling code flow (loops, control structures), using PL/SQL packages to group and contain related constructs, and triggers used to solve business challenges. This will ensure participants of the knowledge to manage performance and optimize database workloads, lower IT costs and deliver a higher quality of service by enabling consolidation onto database clouds.
Course objective
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the PL/SQL development environments.
- Identify the benefits of PL/SQL programs and subprograms.
- Design a PL/SQL packages to group related constructs and PL/SQL anonymous blocks that execute efficiently
- Use Oracle supplied PL/SQL packages to generate screen output, file output and mail output.
- Write dynamic SQL for more coding flexibility.
- Describe the features and syntax of PL/SQL.
- Create and debug stored procedures and functions.
- Use PL/SQL programming constructs and conditionally control code flow (loops, control structures, and explicit cursors).
- Manage dependencies between PL/SQL subprograms.
- Handle runtime errors and create triggers to solve business challenges.
