Course Introduction

This training course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management essentials over four days. Covering topics ranging from demand forecasting and supply chain network management to sourcing strategies, internal operations optimization, logistics management, and supply chain risk mitigation, participants will gain practical skills and theoretical insights essential for navigating the complexities of modern supply chain operations. Course objective

  • Learn to collect and analyze historical and environmental demand data, influence demand through marketing activities, and build forecasts to align supply with demand effectively.
  • Gain proficiency in defining and managing the supply chain network, including managing master data for customers, suppliers, products/items, engineering, and logistics, and developing and maintaining reports, analytics, and metrics.
  • Align sourcing activities with demand, effectively manage categories for sourcing products and services, evaluate and select suppliers, and manage purchase orders to optimize the sourcing process.
  • Plan operations, manage inventory efficiently, measure and assess performance, and analyze and utilize applicable continuous improvement philosophies such as lean principles and six sigma.
  • Understand how to define and manage distribution networks, provide distribution services, evaluate trade considerations, design and manage reverse flow, and effectively manage customer and supplier relationships.
