Lifting Lever Test: If applicable, manually operating the lever (at 75%+ of set pressure) to ensure the stem and disc move freely.Pop Test: Testing the valve on a "Pop Stand" to ensure it opens instantly at the specific set point. Verification of Nameplate: Ensuring the valve's capacity ($SCFM$ or $Lbs/hr$) still matches the vessel's requirements.
Visual Testing (VT): The most common method; looking for cracks, bulging, or external corrosion. Ultrasonic Testing (UT): Measuring the wall thickness to detect internal thinning or hidden flaws. Radiographic Testing (RT): Using X-rays to inspect weld quality and internal structures. Magnetic Particle / Dye Penetrant: Used to find surface or near-surface cracks in the metal. Hydrostatic Testing: Filling the vessel with water and pressurizing it to 1.3x–1.5x the design pressure to check for leaks or deformation
