PR professionals manage an organization's public image and reputation. Their work can include media relations, press releases, social media communication, events, crisis communication, and building relationships with stakeholders.
Neither is universally better. PR is a good fit for people who enjoy communication, media, writing, branding, and public-facing work. HR is better suited to people interested in employees, recruitment, performance, policies, and organizational development.
PR can become a well-paid career, especially at senior manager, director, agency leadership, corporate communications, or strategic communications levels. Entry-level salaries are usually more moderate, and pay varies significantly by country, industry, employer, and experience.
